| | We met playing softball at Valley Falls in 2013. That is where the friendship started. Fast forward two years... We started hanging out more and were both subbing for one another's slowpitch teams throughout the week. The more time we spent around each other the more hooked we became. His dashing looks and over the top fun personality was the perfect match for an Aries driven, live on the edge, kind of gal. We made it facebook offical on July 29th, 2015 and it has been nothing but laughs, smiles, and adventures since. We have lived life to the fullest, gone to all kinds of places, and made memories that will last a life time. On September 6th, 2015, while we were in Branson on vacation over labor day, he asked everyone in my family to join us out in the gazebo to hang out and enjoy the evening. Oblivious and unaware of the moment in the making, I wandered my way outside. He requested we take a picture together and before I could even get ready for the picture I thought we were taking, I found him down on one knee with a gorgeous ring asking, "Will you marry me?" OF COURSE, I said, yes! :) It was one of the best days of our lives and we can't wait for all of you to share in the celebration as we get hitched and start yet another chapter in this journey together.
| | The Ceremony will take place at Heritage Center in Mahaffie Farmstead in Olathe, KS 66061. The address is 1200 E. Kansas City Road, Olathe, KS 66061. And the phone number is (913) 971-5111 should you have any questions. The dress will be semi-casual to buisness casual to formal. Whatever you want as long as you feel like it's wedding appropriate, the ceremony will be outside unless it absolutly can not be due to weather so if it is chilly you will want to bring something warm. The reception venue however should be warm and cozy! You can also get with Rodney or I regarding questions about the venue and we would be happy to find an answer for you. The ceremony will be at 5:00pm and the reception will follow immediately. We will be eating a bar-b-que buffet with cupcakes and cookies to follow. There will be a variety of beers available as well as Palm Breeze and Mike's Hard Lemonade for those of you who aren't impressed by our assortment of beers. We will also have both white and red wine available, and soda pop and water. This is an adults only affair so please make arrangements to leave the kiddos behind for the night. If you have any additional questions feel free to ask. Please make sure to respond to the RSVP's when they arrive as seating at the venue is limited and we want to make sure we have seats ready for everyone. | | The resort we were registered through changed up their system and was going to charge a service fee, so ultimately we are looking to make mexico as fun as possible! We want to go on the catamarans, have a candlelit dinner on the beach, eat at some of the fancy resturants including the steak house and the mexican resturant, snorkle, zip-line, dive into cenotes, ride four wheelers, have fresh flowers delievered to our room as well as covered strawberries, swim with the dolphins and so much more. Therefore, we only registered at Walmart for things that we are really in need of in hopes of getting cash to head to mexico with. If you are going to look at getting visa gift cards or any other kind of gift card please make sure it can be used outside the U.S. we have found that actually most are not able to be used outside of the U.S.
As I mentioned we are also registered at Walmart. If you go to the registry page and search either Kristen Hansen or Rodney Spillman you should come up with our registry. :)
Thanks! | | As I mentioned on the registry page, we are headed to Mexico. We will be staying at a resort in Riviera Maya called Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe. While it is an all inclusive resort and the food and drinks will be plentiful, we are hoping to make this trip one to remember! There are additional excursions such as the Mayan Jungle and Isla Mujeres by Catamaran, we also hope to swim with the dolphins and enjoy dinner on the beach. We can't wait to soak up all the sun! We want to thank you for helping us make these excursions possible and allowing us to truly enjoy our first out of the country vacation together. | | We can't say thank you enough to everyone that has been involved in the making of our big day. We have had all kinds of items donated, and there has been all kinds of advice and input given to help make our day painless and easy. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, for everything you guys have done so far and all you continue to do as the date approaches. Can't wait to see all of you there!! |
