Bride

It was back in 2000, we were working at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.  I was at the Front Desk at the time and Cory worked in Security Services.  One day, I was in the back office and saw this man talking to the reception manager.  I saw him from a distance and thought to myself, that's my kind of man! Then I saw his wedding ring and felt a bit disappointed.  So I kept my distance for a few months, not introducing myself, not even walking across his path.  I would be so embarassed if he could see on my face that I  was attracted to him.  So for months, I would see him from afar...just admiring, like a single girl would do.  Then one day when I was alone at the Presidents club desk, I saw him patrolling the lobby so I just watched him...then from a far distance, he turned around and caught me looking at him! Oh crap, I got caught!  He made his way towards the desk and no one was in line to check in so I had to look at him and acknowledge him.  He introduced himself with a friendly smile and my heart melted!!  I wore this stuffy three piece uniform and at the moment, I was sweating like crazy!  I was nervous, shy and speechless.  Once he left the desk, I had to go to the back office and fan myself down!  I had to put things into perspective though, he was married and there could be no future with him.  We became good friends over the years but I dwindled communication with him.  I couldn't be friends with him anymore as he had a family of his own and I couldn't tell him how I really felt about him.

I bumped into him a couple of times after not seeing him for at least 5 years and although it was nice to see him, I kept my conversation with him very short.  I mean very short!

Then on Boxing Day 2008, I receive a "friend request" on Facebook from Cory.  I thought this was odd as I didn't think Cory was the type to be on social media sites.  So I snooped around his facebook page and saw that his marital status showed SINGLE.  Needless to say, I accepted his friend request, sent him a message with my phone number and asked him to call me right away!  I wanted to know the details to his status...that's all! LOL!

We met up that night and talked, and talked and got caught up with what has happened in our lives.  It was then when I knew that I found the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
