So the story of the engagement day! As some of you know Kyle had told me the week before he was planning a special day on the following friday and to have no plans when he got back from camp in Fort Mac, I really didnt know what he was planning but was so excited!!
The night before Kyle told me that I needed to pack my Lululemon pants & hoodie, swimming suit, clothes for dinner, and to bring my hair & makeup stuff so I can get ready after swimming! So some of you may think Hello Tracie why wouldnt you think Kyle was gonna ask you to marry him like !!??!! Well I didnt because it is normal for me and Kyle to go on dates when he comes back from camp, and we normally got to the WEM also on a regular basis spending the day shopping, lunch, and movie or whatever! So I really thought we were doing that and going to the waterpark ( already dreading the charlie horses I get from the red slide!) So I was told in the morning we were to be departing at 10:00 am!
Kyle woke me up at 8 am lights on, ''lets get up'' he said ''time for you to get ready, I know how you are''. So I got up walked to the kitchen turned my coffee pot on, wasted sometime ..... ate half a bagel..... haha packed a few things here and there.... Kyle was like are you going to be ready???? I was like ''yup'' As you see you all may be thinking more red flags!! But nope this is a normal morning get up for me and Kyle too! So I got ready and guess what I was ready early! It was 9:40 so we left!! We took Victoria Trail heading west bound onto the the Yellowhead... well we are stuck in a traffic jam not going anywhere!!!crawling and crawling!! Dianne was texting me wishing me a great day and all that as she was off to go see her parents in Spruce Grove and show them Bentley her Boston terrier! The Yellowhead was closed! All the traffic getting flagged into one lane... and having to exit onto 97th street... I was so stressed I was like Kyles gonna be freaking!!!! It was now 10:05 but, he was so calm so we went North on 97th so we could take 137th to go to the WEM!! OMG a complete circle I thought ''Kyles gonna snap'' ( We live on 139th) So after our detour we got to the mall a hour later! Kyle was soooo calm and yes that wasnt normal for that situation but, luckily I was so fast on getting ready in the morning so that bought us the extra time I even said that to him!!
So Kyle and I went and got a starbucks (me a Tall Carmel Machiatto, him a water) so we sat down and had our drinks, Kyle looked at his watch and was like okay lets go! I didnt know where we were going??? He took us over to the Day spa and he had us booked in for a hour long couples massages! So exciting... we got put into our robes all naked and such and started getting the best massage EVER so so so relaxing so relaxing I started to hear heavy heavy breathing! Then a honk and well you know KYLE IS SNORING! snoring so loud I started laughing so hard my stomach hurt! He then started hitting the blankets with his hands as he was falling into a good deep sleep! Half hour later hour we were done and the lights turned on a bit, me and Kyle chatted I said I loved my feet getting rubbed hes like ''they never rubbed mine'' Im like yes they did you were sleeping and then I relayed to him what happened, we laughed so hard! We felt so relaxed though!!
We decided to go to Mr Mikes for lunch so we sat down and ordered we both had lemon waters Kyle had the Steakmelt and scallop potatoes I had something new as I dont have a Mr Mikes favorites like Kyle does. So I ordered some salad with cranberries and goat cheese! I wouldnt get it again either or really recommend it! So we were having lunch and the lucky girl I am I have the TV directly behind me. So Kyles watching sportsnet highlights, I was thinking oh how nice we just had a couples massage now he is ignoring me completely! he was too I was talking and he was hardly saying anything to me back! Then it was like 10 mins to 2pm and he said to me I have to leave for about a half hour and come back so I will text you when I get back okay??? I was like okay I guess so.... I didnt really care because we normally split up in the mall and meet back up again and I was like, this is my time to go to the stores he hates- right! So half later he text me saying he was back and he is like where are you and I of course was still in the same store he left me in because thats how good I am at taking my time! Hes like well I am at booster juice now ordering a drink if you want to meet me! I was like okay so I walked down there and he was still waiting for his ''Bananas Awhey with 3 scoops of whey'' Kyle said to me ''well I brought the truck around to this end...'' and before he finished my head already thinking we are going swimming now because the pools right here thats why the trucks over here because we parked at the sears entrance like we usually do I knew we should have parked over here this time, ''because I have something to show you'', he finished. I was like ooooh okay as we started walking I thought we would be going outside but we turned right to the Fantasyland hotel elevators, In we go up to the 11th floor as we walk down the hall into the ''Rome suite'' right away I said ''Kyle what about the dogs we cant stay here!'' Kyles like Dianne has them! I was like ''No she is in Spruuuuuuce...'' Kyle was like ''remember when you couldnt find your keys this morning... Well Dianne has them.... ''. I was texting Dianne then right away I said ''Dianne I know'' she text me back ''?'' Im like ''I know you have the dogs'' So I was all in a fuss about the dogs and Kyle was like settle down, remember when I told you a few months ago I wanted to do a special night and stay here and just have fun and no worries well this is it but, plans changed I had us both booked in for couples facials but now you are just going to go since they dont do that and you can get yours done still'' I was like I dont need a facial its okay but he insisted! I had to leave right away as it was close to my appointment time Kyle said he was gonna go to the gym instead so that was perfect!
So I went for my facial it was really good and informative and included a massage too I felt really good but wished Kyle did it too! When I finished I had a text the said ''Im back in Rome'' So I went back to the hotel. I was feeling pretty hungry again and we had decided previously we were gonna go to the Cactus Club for dinner.
When I got back Kyle was watching yes Sportsnet. We decided that I was gonna get ready for dinner while he waited then he would get ready when I finish since I take sometime and he takes two mins. I was getting ready and Kyle kept calling in ''Are you ready, I am hungry!'' he did that about 6 times and I was like ''No Im redoing my hair for the third time'' and I was! Finally I finished and honestly I was getting mad at my hair it was not co-operating due to my facials and the scalp massage I had earlier! I walked out to the bathroom and Kyle came over and gave me a hug looking me in the eyes and said to me something like you know you are my everything and my little angel from heaven, I couldnt imagine my life without you... he then led me over to the bed and sat me down... I cant really remember what he was saying now as I was like on blank mind, it was tons of lovely things everything I could dream of but he was kneeling down, I was confused, he must have been kneeling down to reach for his watch or put his socks on... or he is already wearing socks... Kyle reached into the drawer and pulled out that box, that box we all know.... but I thought maybe its earrings, he gave me earrings in a box like that before.... my mind was overloading...... Kyle then asked me "Will you marry me?'' with a tear in his eye, my face was soaked already as I started crying when we were standing . I looked at him and just said a tiny ''Yes'' he said ''Arnt you gonna say anything else?'' I said ''nope''. He put the ring on me it fit perfectly as Dianne at made me get sized quite awhile back and how amazing it was, so beautiful and well huge.... but that is Kyle for you! Kyle picked me up and swung me around hugged me,kissed me, held me , he said I am so proud to call you my fiance, I cried and cried my face was soaked my hair and makeup ruined! We talked for about 15mins and decided to get me ready again and go to dinner..... I hardley remember that walk from the Hotel to the Cactus Club as they are on other ends of the mall, but it was amazing walk like I was on a cloud.
We got there and there was a wait but I dont remember waiting for our seats! We both got lemon waters to start and I choose a bottle of redwine. We looked over the menu and decided to get two chicken entree's so we can taste each others. Kyle got the ''rob’s hunter chicken– button, portabello, shiitake and crimini mushroomdemi-glace, green beans, and herb fingerling potatoes'' and I got ''blackened creole chicken– spicy creole butter, mashed potatoes, asparagus'' We sat there and held hands sitting side by side and yes I kept crying and Kyle smiling at me. My sister called in the meantime and before I could say hello she was yelling about her day and how terrible it was and my only reply was oh I just had the best day ever, I didnt even listen to what she said! Kailey screamed back ''Wahooooooooooooo''! Our dinner came and it was sooooo delicious everybite was sooo good, we decided mine was better then Kyles a bit the creole butter was so tasty! We thought about getting dessert but by the time we finished our bottle of wine we were too full and a little drunk. I told Kyle lets just get a Cinzeo bun and he laughed at me as I have an addiction to those Cinnimon Buns! So we went and got a bun each and I got another coffee even though it was 9pm. The day was soo much fun and more then I could ever dream of Kyle fell asleep right away, not me I laid there all night giggling to myself and crying! I finally fell asleep around 3 and woke up again at 5. I got up and dressed into my Lulu's like Kyle asked me to pack for the morning (the swimming suit was a trick to confuse me fyi) I went down and walked around the mall, I went to Starbucks and had coffee and checked on the breakfast to see when it was ready not until 7 hahah. I wasnt tired at all, I then went and woke Kyle up and we had breakfast and checked out and went home! Our condo was decorated and the pups were so happy to see us! It was such an amazing 24 hours with my bestfriend for life and I will never forget it.
-I just wanted to add to the part where Dianne replied with a ''?'' when I said ''I know'' because I was saying I know about the dogs but she didnt know if I meant about being engaged or the dogs so thats why she replied to me like that, she text Kyle in the meantime what does she actually know? hahahaha.... Because I actually knew nothing!
